Der reisende Händler Lawrence zieht mit seinem Pferdewagen von Ort zu Ort, um Waren zu verkaufen. In einem Dorf begegnet er der schönen Holo, die Ohren und Schwanz eines Wolfes trägt und als Weise Wölfin für reiche Ernten sorgt. Sie will in ihre alte Heimat im Norden zurückkehren, und Lawrence bietet ihr an, sie zu begleiten. So beginnt die gemeinsame Reise zweier einst einsamer Seelen.
